Some... irritating news
... for me as webmaster anyway. Most of the bands YouTube-clips have been deleted since Sebastian's (me) YouTube account was taken down - it contained material which was "copy righted".
I'll try to upload a few clips if I can, but a lot of them are gone. I'll start with the only clips I have on my computer. These are incredibly old but some of it has never been uploaded. Just as we speak I'm uploading half of the Döbelns Park-gig from 2010. According to YouTube 289 minutes remain now (15:34, Wednseday) so it should be online later today. I also uploaded "Out of The Mist" from one of the bands pre-historic gigs, a time when the band had a completely different name and a quite different line-up.
The user name is MisplacedUmea.

Sad news
A while ago Misplaced received some news that will slow down the band:
First of all, Helena has decided to not continue with the band. She has lost a bit of her interest for music in general and don't think that she's willing to put down the time needed to be in a band. We'd like to thank her for her time with us as she's been a great addition musically and become a very good friend.
The second problem is related to problem #1 in the way that the band rehearsed at Helena's place and this won't continue either. So right now, the band has no rehearsal spot.
Thirdly, Sebastian is moving away from Umeå to study in Skövde (more than 1000km away from eachother) for three years. Sebastian has said that he's not quitting the band and will return whenever he's got a chance but can't be a part of the band in the same way as before.
The band is looking to solve all these problems as soon as possible but as of yet nothing has been decided regarding replacements or a new rehearsal spot.
There's also been talk about a recording of an entire album, but those plans might have to be pushed further into the future since Sebastian is moving. Still, a huge recording session is being planned and the goal is to record 9-10 songs if not more.

Emil's back!
With Emil back in the band Misplaced entered the stage of Sommar i Parken as headliners yesterday. The gig was a lot of fun and sounded pretty good. read more about the show (setlist, trivia) in the "Live"-section as usual.

Misplaced as a headliner!
Misplaced will headline an event for the first time as they enter the stage on "Sommaren i Parken" in Umeå. Misplaced are set for a 45 minute show starting about 8 ó clock in the afternoon.
Emil is back an will make his comeback appearance as well so the show is bound for success. Now make sure you're not missing out on this special occasion and stand in the front row when things get started.

Misplaced finishes at #4
Misplaced had great success with the audience yesterday at the district final of Rockkarusellen. As a matter of fact, Misplaced got the most votes of any band from the audience. Too bad the jury didn't share the same feeling. But the band got 12 points (the highest amount) from one of the people in the jury.

Misplaced sets aim at district final
After this weekends gig in Crystal Castle, Skellefteå, the band has now reached the district final. What other bands participating is unclear at the moment, but we'll give you an update as soon as possible. What we know is that the final takes place at Umeå Folkets Hus on May 7th. Misplaced advances in Rockkarusellen!
Misplaced has made it to the semifinals of Rockkarusellen for the second year in a row. We'll be playing at Crystal Castle in Skellefteå on April 2nd. If you're free we'd be happy to see you in the audience. At the moment we're not sure how the band will look like on stage. Emil won't be a part of the gig, that's pretty much everything we know.

Nordmaling makes good impression on the band
After returning from yesterdays show in Nordmaling the entire band strongly agree on one point - Nordmaling has one hell of a stage.

Rockkarusellen is on!
Yesterday the band had their opening gig in this years Rockkarusellen. A lot of people showed up - even though most of the regular faces of the audience were missing. The band revealed two new songs and gave, arguably, one of the better shows they've done so far.
Now two more shows await but neither Emil nor Helena will be a part of any of those. Both are leaving town. What will happen is not quite sure, but expect us to go on stage in one way or another.

Last show of 2010
Last saturday we had our last show of the year. A four-song performance on Verket with Mikael Savalahti as stand in drummer as Olof was still in Manchester. Now we're preparing for some studiorecordings in the beginning of 2011. We have high hopes for it, but of course we have no idea of how the demo will sound like. We're still waiting for the final mix of the three-song demo we recorded earlier this year. As soon as they're done we'll post it so you all can hear it.

New gig!
The band is scheduled for a gig in Verket on December 11th. Olof will not be a part of the gig however as he is still abroad. Filling in on the drums will be Mikael Savalahti, a friend of Emil and Sebastian from their time on University and "Creative Music".

Olof goes to Britain
Olof is in England at the moment, Manchester to be precise. He's studying to become an english teacher and is there a better place to study the englsih language than in the country itself? Well, I sure think so. Somewhere closer to the band perhaps? So rehearsals wouldn't sound so beat-less.
Well, the rest of the crew is working steadily on new material as well as rehearsing the old stuff. You just might see us live in December if you're lucky? But if so, we do it with another drummer unfortunately. At least the first time. We're trying to find some places to play at so it won't take so long time until we enter the stage again.

New bass player and lots of new photos!
The band can proudly announce the name of our new bass player: Helena Burström. As a friend to the sister of a friend to the band Helena heard that the band was looking for a bass player and tried out for a couple of rehearsals and then everyone agreed that Helena was a more than worthy successor on the bass.

New lyrics
A song has been added under "Music & Lyrics". It's a song that Emil has written and it's called "Remember". It was written pretty long ago and we've wanted to play it but never taken the time to learn it. But as of today we've started rehearsing it so I put the lyrics on the site for you to read.

Misplaced tears down the house
Quite a successful show - especially considering the circumstances. Daniel Dela stepped in, once again, and played the bass when the band needed him. The band and him never really had time to rehearse together so he pretty much improvised and made one hell of a job improvising. I don't think anyone would have known that we hadn't rehearsed with him if we wouldn't have said it to the audience.
Other than that it was above decent. The band had it's first show with their backdrop and played really tight. The only problem was probably that Emils guitar started "screaming" real bad. But other than that - stellar performance.

Emelie "puts the bass on the shelf"
Emelie has decided not to go on with the band and has decided to quit. The band is ofcourse very sad over this since we really felt like a unit together. Live shows and road trips were nothing less than a blast, Emelie is a great stage-performer and musician but above all a very good friend. Sebastian comments:
- Ofcourse we're not happy about this, but she's gotta do what feels right for her. She can't play in the band only for us, it wouldn't work.
Emelie has left the band with immediate effect and won't be a part of tomorrows live performance at Hamnmagasinet. At the moment the band is looking for a successor on the bass position. We'll keep you updated.

Studio recordings - check
The band has been taping their awesomeness into audio files - audio files that will make the entire world implode, sadly enough. Anyhow, these recordings will be available for streaming probably next week (read: early October). The band is quite happy with the results, even though it got kinda stressed out near the end. A source says that the band is already planning a second visit to the studio to record even more songs. Check out some pictures from recordings here.The three songs that were recorded this time was:

Studio recordings and some live-stuff
Misplaced will enter the studio next weekend to start their work on the bands second demo. The band won't announce which songs will be recorded but says that they will begin to record two or three songs and make them sound as good as they can. If the quality is high enough the band will continue to record most of their repertoire.
Also, the band is scheduled for a show on October 1st. Most likely the bands only show in Umeå this autumn.

What's up
OK, at the moment the band has no scheduled shows to attend at and that just might give them some extra time to write new songs and start rehearsing covers for potentially a Finland-tour. Also, the band is more than interested in recording a demo, so stay tuned for the latest news about the future of the band. We'll try our best to make as much out of this autumn as possible.

The band is announced for Vännäsdagarna! At 14.30 next friday (9th of July) the band will enter the big stage. But since Emelie lives in Stockholm during summer the guys have called for a stand-in bass player. So for this time Daniel Dela from Kapten Kid & Det Oändliga Sommarlovet will play the bass.

Good things rarely come alone
The band is back after their first gig outside of Sweden. The finnish town of Oravais was conquered by the enchanting beat of the swedish rock quartet. Before the show the band was interviewed by a local TV-channel and parts of the show was filmed by the same channel. After the highly succesful gig the band had a long talk with a tour-planner who wanted to sign Misplaced up for four more shows later this year. The band.
- We'll probably go back to Finland somewhere around October, says Sebastian.
The band heard a lot of praises for their show and it just might have been the best performance they've done. At least if you ask the band. Sebastian says:
- We did our best. We didn't really care that the audience was a little smaller than expected. It was just fun to play. And in a not too distant future we'll post a little videolog of our first international experience as a band.

The band is announced for Kulturnatta again this year - but this time with a bigger stage. The band will have to go live without Sebastian since he's in Greece by that time (returning home one day too late).
More news about SÖU Rock in Oravais. The festival will team up with the popular "Popkalaset" which takes place on the 12th of June. SÖU Rock now moves some of the bands (including Misplaced) to friday the 11th instead. The band is set to enter the stage at 00:00 (night to saturday) and then leave the stage one hour later. This will most certainly be the biggest show to date.

Greater news
As if just going to the finals weren't enough - Misplaced was voted to second place in Västerbotten yesterday! The price will be 1000:- to spend @ 4Sound in Umeå as well as a backdrop with the bands logo. Other than that the band also got 15 hours in Studiefrämjandets studio called "Stallet". Sebastian comments the studio-time:
- We'll try to record a hell lot of songs when we're there. Since we know the production probably won't be the best anyway we just want to record as many as possible.
Sebastian continues:
- We're very very happy to have come this far. We never thought we'd even make it to the semifinals and now we were, before the audiences voting, ranked as number 1. I must say I am proud to call myself a member of Misplaced. And we'll only get better.

First off I want to apologize for not posting any news on the site for a long time. But I haven't had access to a decent computer for quite a while. Things will look different later this week though.

Both bad and good news
Mattias Rönnberg leaves the band after being a part of it since 2007. We thank Mattias for a lot of memories with him as a bandmate. There's no hard feeling between him and the band but the time wa simple not enough for Mattias to stay with the band. The new bass-player is Emelie Weidebäck.

Misplaced feels a taste of gold!
Thanks to all of you who voted Misplaced has been announced as the winner of the SÖU Rock-competition! With our 170 votes we were about 30 better than By Proxy who ended up on second place.

The downloads-area has had a major update. Gone are the old videos and uploaded are videos from the latest gigs. "New" songs will be uploaded on the audio-area. They have never been uploaded to the site before, but the recordings are very old. Check out "Memory Isle" and "Don't Know What Darkness".

Rockkarusellen
The first gig of Rockkarusellen was performed yesterday with great success. On friday the band will play again on Hartvigsgården and two months later on Verket. We'll try to get some gigs in between so you all will have more Misplaced to look forward to!
Also, the band is re-recording the old Misplaced-classic "Love Is A Tricky Game". The final result is a week or two away, but stay tuned!

Wishes of a happy new year!
The band wants to wish you all a happy new year by uploading three newly recorded songs. There's more to come but we can't wait any longer to show you all what we're doing. And the band will also play either January 15 or 16. It's not decided exactly when yet. Stay tuned!

Gig and other stuff
The band played at Folkets Hus yesterday. The show was a minor success. Read more about it in the "live"-area. Three songs are being recorded at the moment. "Fame Over", "Love Is A Tricky Game" and "The Glass Don't Cut". Hopefully the songs will be fully recorded in the beginning of 2010.

Update
The band is alive and is just back from the gig at Holmsund. The few people watching considered it a job well done. The sound was really good and the mistakes were really few. Hoping to see you all on Mariehem 18/12!

Hard at work
The band has had a busy week so far to prepare for the gig in Holmsund this weekend. The band has rehersed for an 8-song setlist. A mix of old and new. The band is also in writing-mode of a couple of songs. A bright future awaits the band, I can feel it.

First gig of autumn announced!
The band is, after a few months of musical vacation, back and stronger than ever. The first gig of this autumn is scheduled for November 11:th. There may be some dates before that as well - we'll see about that.

VK-player of the week.
Here's some Misplaced-related news that's got nothing to do with music, in fact it's about soccer. This week Sebastian was honoured with the title "player of the week" by the local newspaper Västerbottens Kuriren. Sebastian had scored four goals and assisted to another two goals in Obbola IK's (his team) victory over Hörnsjö/Rundvik.

The site has been updated with a discussion-forum! Sign up and join the discussions! This would also turn out to be the end of the sites guestbook and the blogs have been moved to the forum.
I can also reveal that the band has slowly begun a recording project. But we'll see what happens, we might not even use these recordings.

Photo-shoot
The band had a photo-shoot today at Midgårdsskolan, Umeå. The pictures turned out to be pretty successful even though the background could have been better. Some pictures will be posted online within two weeks.

Photo-shoot scheduled
The band has scheduled a photo-shoot for promotional pictures. The pictures will be taken in the studio of Midgårdskolan, Umeå, on April 23rd. Hopefully the results will be pretty OK.

Gigs
The band played in Burträsk a few days ago. A pretty successful gig. It was the first time they performed "Fame Over" and the band also presented yet another new version of "Just Another Lie".
Next up is "Blend of Music!", a festival @ Hamnmagasinet, Umeå. It all starts at 19:00 April 18:th. Be there!

The band has written a new song called "Fame Over". The lyrics aren't 100% finished, but the "demo"-version of the lyrics can be read in "Music & Lyrics".

The site has got a major face-lift. I hope everyone likes the new design!
The band is also scheduled for a gig at Musikfestivalen, Burträsk on April 3:rd. Musikfestivalen is a competition where the first prize is 10 hours in a studio. There will also be a lottery for the same prize, so every band has a chance of winning. The bands will perform two songs each.
On the right you can see the new design in comparison to the old one.

What's Up?
Hey everybody!
Right now we're focusing on songwriting. We have pretty much finished the rehersal of "Don't Know What Darkness" and the songwriting process of two new songs has more than just begun. One of the songs is a pretty heavy rock-song with a lot of drums and breaks, while the other one is more of a country-oriented piece of music. Neither of the songs are typical Misplaced-songs, but they still have that special Misplaced sound somehow. We're also trying to re-write our oldest song, "Just Another Lie". So far the re-writing is working pretty good. It'll probably be a more progressive sounding song than it was meant to be in the beginning. But I have to admit that I enjoy it a whole lot more now.
Also, the band might have two new gigs coming up later this spring, stay tuned!

Jesper announce departure from the band
Guitarist Jesper Vesterberg has decided to stop working with the band. He said that he wants to focus on getting an education for now and that the time just wasn't enough. Yesterdays show on Teg Centralskola was his last performance with Misplaced. The band wants to thank him for his contribution on and off the stage, and wish him the best of luck on every path that he takes in his life.
We'll remain friends, and you'll always remain a part of Misplaced.
